Nominate a Deserving Recipient for Full Mouth Reconstruction

At DC Perio & Implants we believe everyone deserves to feel better, healthier, and stronger. That is why we have created solutions for people to enjoy and experience life. Dr. Abron is a volunteer practitioner for several non-profit organizations that provide free dental services to the underprivileged. Based on his fundamental believe that health care providers are primarily there to help and serve Dr. Abron has been active in charity dental work since he was in dental school where he was involved in organizing and running a free dental clinic for those who could not afford dental care otherwise. Dr. Abron has continued and expanded his charitable activities since he started in practice and continues providing charity dental services for the less fortunate in the Washington, DC area who would not otherwise have access to adequate dental care. He has also been a volunteer practitioner on charity dental mission teams. On these teams, he has serviced the underprivileged in the local community and in remote areas of Mexico. For the above mentioned reasons he has initiated
the DC Perio & Implant AIDP (Access to Implant Dentistry & Perio). DC Perio & Implant AIDP is our initiative to help underprivileged patients who are in need of treatment but cannot afford it. This program has been running since 2005 and relies on collaboration with dentists who provide treatment without charge, while we donate the relevant surgical care. Other example of DC Perio & Implant AIDP is the “House of Ruth” event conducted in Washington, DC annually to provide needy patients with complete periodontal and surgical treatment. DC Perio & Implants supports various charitable projects and initiatives around our city that focus on the field of dental care. As a local leader in replacement, restorative, regenerative and esthetic dentistry, this is where we can have the greatest impact and where our contribution is most meaningful.

At DC Perio & Implant AIDP (Access to Implant Dentistry & Perio), we believe everyone deserves good oral health and understand not everyone can afford it.

How does DC Perio & Implant AIDP Work?

More people are unable to afford dental care than other types of health care. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

  • More than $45 billion is lost in productivity in the U.S. each year due to untreated oral disease.
  • Nearly 18% of all working-age adults and 29% of those with lower incomes, report that the appearance of their mouth and teeth affects their ability to interview for a job.
  • Low-income older adults, those with less than a high school education, or current smokers are more than three times as likely to have lost all of their teeth as adults with higher incomes, more than a high school education, or those who never smoked.

Giving Back to the Community is Part of Our Philosophy

DC Perio & Implant AIDP is available only to people who are genuinely in need and genuinely unable to afford implant and periodontal treatment. If the treating dentist assesses a patient to be a hardship case and performs the dental treatment free of charge, DC Perio & Implants will provide the surgical treatment for free. People from the community can also nominate others in the community with a chronic health or dental issue to receive full mouth reconstruction at no cost. One of our skilled periodontists will provide full mouth dental implants (need a link) or periodontal treatment for free. DC Perio & Implant AIDP is available only to people who are genuinely in need and truly unable to afford implant and periodontal treatment. When you nominate a person you believe is eligible, please submit a detailed, compelling story explaining why this person needs a new smile. DC Perio & Implants AIDP

People from the community can nominate others in the community with a chronic health or dental issue to receive full mouth reconstruction at no cost. One of our skilled periodontists will provide full mouth dental implants for free. This includes dental implant parts provided pro bono by the implant companies and a natural-looking prosthesis created at no charge from the dental labs we use. We hope to offer this pro-bono service three times a year. When you nominate a person you believe is worthy, please submit a detailed, compelling story explaining why this person needs a new smile. Although we can’t help every person that is nominated for this unique community service in Columbia, MD, being detailed in your submission will increase the likelihood they’ll be chosen!Giving Back to the Community is Part of Our Philosophy
